Handlettering | Stacey Marble Photography
When I first started college at Utah State University I was in the art department, but not the photo department. I was a drawing/painting major. It took a little over a year to realize that that was not the career path I wanted to take. I still loved the art classes that I took, but I didn't want to become a teacher, and photography took over soon after that. However, working with my hands is still something I really enjoy. The last few years I've gotten into hand lettering and fell in love. Which is maybe not the greatest thing cause if you ask my husband (or myself really) he'll say I have too many hobbies as it is.
Last year I decided to make my siblings and parents a piece for their birthdays. I did a practice run first in my sketch book, these are some of the pieces I created for them. I love experimenting with new techniques. There are so many options--different pens, markers, paints, brushes, fonts, ect. I've currently just been using the tombow dual brush tip watercolor markers. Travis got them for me for Christmas a couple of years ago and he always says it is the most used gift I've ever been given. (Well, that was until he got me the foldable wagon...)
I talked to Travis about having an etsy shop for hand lettered prints a while back and he voted I focus on one business for now. But maybe in the future I'll make it happen. :)
