Spring has sprung

I got a new lens a couple of weeks ago.  It's a 50mm 1.4 nikon. And I LOVE it.
Thanks to my great friend Rach for letting me try hers out before I made the final purchase.
But I'm so excited to use this for my upcoming weddings!!
I couldn't wait that long so I decided to get out and take some photos
of the spring that is happening here in Logan.
Although I took most of these 2 days before we were hit with 6 inches of snow. :)

Sam and I had some fun in one of my favorite locations to take photos.
(Which actually wasn't as green as I was hoping at this point.)
Sam also ate a dandelion.

Ok, enough of me and my adorable child. I love the look of spring.
God truly is the most amazing artist and I'm thankful for the beauty that surrounds us.

I passed these pink blossoms nearly every day for a week and knew I had to get
some photos of them.  When I finally got there someone was having a little photo session
of their own there, so I tried to be quick and stay out of their way.
Can't say I blame them for picking the location though. ;)

This tree was interesting. The branch with the pink flowers was added
to the tree with the white blossoms...
Not sure why, but it was awesome.

Paige & Aaron Engaged

My cousin gets to marry this awesome girl next month! Aaron and Paige are
totally perfect for each other.  Seriously.  I was told that after Aaron proposed they
went back to his house and played video games...because that's what they
enjoy doing together. Ha ha! It makes me laugh.
But we love Paige and are so excited to have her in the family.
I loved taking their engagement photos and had a great time with them both.

It had become pretty cold the week before this session was planned, but thankfully
it warmed up for most of it.  I was not terribly happy with the direct sunlight
but I actually ended up loving some of the shots that were created,
namely these two below with the patterns of the shadows.

Also, this one below is one of my absolute favorites from the session.
I'm just in love with the simple colors and texture of it.

Nieces and Nephews

My mom wanted a family group shot at our Easter party last month
since all of us would be together.
While I was at it, I took single shots of all the grandkids so my mom could update her wall of photos.

We took these photos at the worst possibly time of day when it comes to lighting,
but thankfully the kids are cute so they still turned out awesome. :)

Don't ask me which twin is which. I knew that day because their hairstyles were different,
but I can't remember now.

This little boy was a little model and did everything I asked without question.

And this guy was just cute with his hands in his pocket.
He walked around like that for at least half the day.

Prom Night

Last month I was asked to take some photos for this group on the night of their
high school prom. That was something I had never done.
When I was in high school you just got a photo taken at the dance with some cheesy
props and a background and you always paid way too much for that one photo.
I thought this was actually a great idea, and I think even
the young men thought it was pretty painless. In fact, I think they really enjoyed themselves.  :)

I honestly had a lot more fun than I thought I would with this session.
Check out all of the photos at staceymarble.com!!
