Frequently Asked Questions About Photo Sessions | Stacey Marble Photography | Logan Photographer

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

HOW LONG DOES A SESSION TAKE?
I have photographed dozens of weddings, families & couples; I know what I'm doing. I try to make the session as quick and painless-and even FUN-for everyone involved. A single family session can take up to an hour depending on what you want, but I'm typically done in closer to 45 minutes. Most other sessions (minus wedding day of course) are typically an hour at most.

WHAT IS THE BEST TIME OF DAY FOR A PHOTO SESSION?
I always prefer to shoot the hour before sunset. The lighting is the best at that hour and you will thank me, I promise! I guarantee that you will be 10 times more pleased with your photos if we photograph in good light!

HOW SOON WILL I GET MY PHOTOS BACK?
I have a quick turn-around time. Meaning, from the time we take the photos to the time you get them back is short. It's a maximum of 2 weeks, but I average about 2-3 days. (I mostly say I need to say 2 weeks in case of a family emergency or something crazy comes up.)

WHAT AREAS DO YOU SERVE?
I am located in Logan, Utah. But I've traveled up to Idaho and even out to Nebraska! I am willing to travel for destination locations, with a travel fee.  I spend a lot of time photographing down in the Salt Lake Valley as well as here in Cache Valley. Both have gorgeous locations to choose from.

WHAT DO I WEAR?
There's not one right answer for this. But I say, dress for the season. Getting summer photos? Feel free to wear shorts, dresses, skirts, ect. Keep it casual with some favorite (nicer) t-shirts, or dress it up with button down shirts and some jewelry! If it's cold, don't be afraid to thrown on a scarf and some sweaters! Even mittens and hats can add to the photos and show some personalities. One of my favorite sessions with my own family, we dressed up. Shirt & tie, skirt and blouse, and button up shirts with nicer shorts for the boys. :) Whatever you decide, make sure you feel COMFORTABLE in it! You'll be much happier when you aren't worried about something slipping up, or falling down or coming untucked.

DO I NEED TO BRING MY OWN POSE INSPIRATIONS/IDEAS?
I am happy to listen to your ideas and make sure you get exactly what you want! However, I'm also well prepared to tell you how to stand, where to put your hands and when to tilt your head just right. ;)  You can come and know that I will be there to take charge and give direction so that you don't have to worry!

WHAT FORMAT DO I GET MY PHOTOS IN?
I deliver your photos through an online gallery on my website. You can download the photos in full resolution straight from there! If you would also like a hard copy, I am more than happy to make a disc for you as well.

DO I NEED TO FIND A LOCATION FOR OUR SESSION?
If you have a location that you would love to go to for our session, great!! Let's do it! I am always up for something new. If you have no idea, that's also totally fine. Let me know if you have a preference between urban and nature and I have several locations up my sleeve. I can give you some options to choose from.

HOW DO I DOWNLOAD PHOTOS?
After you've opened up your gallery on my website (staceymarble.com), on the right side of the page, above the large photo, there is a download icon. This button will download the full gallery. Down below the photo, on the right side, is a smaller download icon. This will download the current photo shown.

DO I PRINT THE PHOTOS THROUGH YOU?
I do not print photos, but I do have some recommendations of where to print! Personally, for all my large prints, I use mpix.com, and I've never been disappointed. But there are several other great options as well, some even local businesses!

CAN WE HAVE OUR SESSION IN A STUDIO?
Absolutely! There are natural lit studios that we can rent out for your session. Daytime will still be the best time to take photos so that we get good light inside the studio. The rental fee will be your responsibility to pay, or added into your fee.

DO I NEED TO ARRIVE EARLY TO OUR SESSION?
It's never a bad idea to plan on being early to your session. Traffic, road closures, ect. can often change your planned travel time. And if we're shooting at the golden time, right before sunset, we don't have hours of light to waste. :) That being said, I understand that things happen that are out of our control, so if you are running late, just call or send me a text to that I can plan accordingly.

DO YOU DO IN HOME SESSIONS?
I love in home sessions. This is a great opportunity to capture some memories in your own home! And it makes it so easy to show your family's personality with this type of session. The best places in a home to take photos are rooms with big windows that let in lots of light. Depending on where your best windows are, it might affect what time of day would be best.

On top of all of this, I do my best to get back to your questions as quick as I can so that I can serve you to the best of my ability! So never hesitate to message me with any questions you might have!
